A WORD ABOUT US:
Welcome to our little corner of the web. R&B Aviaries is located in historic Vivian, Louisiana just north of Shreveport in Northern Louisiana and has been in operation for 14 years. We are a closed facility and are not open to the public. Owned and operated by Ric Flowers & Brian Keith, our mission here at R&B Aviaries is two fold:
LIFE-LONG COMPANIONS:
We offer well socialized baby parrots for avian companionship. All R&B babies are "abundantly weaned" and go through a nurturing socialization process as they grow and become ready for their new homes. During the weaning process each baby parrot is exposed to a variety of foods with an emphasis on a pelleted diet. Birds were created for flight and all R&B babies go through a "flight training" of sorts as they grow. Our goal is to offer well-balanced and well-socialized baby parrots that will hopefully become life-long family members. We do not sell un-weaned babies nor do we condone this practice. All babies sold by R&B Aviaries are raised here in our own nursery and are the offspring of the species we keep. We do not broker birds. R&B Aviaries offers "after purchase" support. We are always here to offer assistance as your R&B baby grows and matures. We want your pet bird experience to be a positive one. The following species are offered as life-long companions: Amazon Parrots, Hawk-headed Parrots, Black Headed & White Bellied Caiques, Bronze Winged Pionus, Triton & Timor Cockatoos as well as African Grey Parrots.
SPECIES CONSERVATION:
In an effort to preserve rare parrot species in captivity, R&B Aviaries has placed three parrot species in "Conservation Breeding Programs." These species include Tucuman Amazons, Hispaniolan Amazons & Golden Conures.
(permit required) These parrot species are all threatened in their native habitat and our goal is to sustain a reliable captive-bred population. All offspring in our "Conservation Breeding Programs" are parent reared when possible to ensure reliable future breeders. R&B Aviaries does interact with other breeders of these species to add or exchange offspring when new bloodlines are needed.
